The contract consists of day to day/planned maintenance and 24 hour emergency call out. To all Public Buildings, including Listed Buildings, Colleges, Schools, Leisure Centres and Libraries within the London Borough of Greenwich. Additional works over and above the contract also include planned maintenance and individual schemes all in occupation.
Value For Money (VFM)
Our tendered rates for the contract were significantly lower than the existing arrangements with two contractors and significantly lower than the other tenders leading to 25% reduction in service cost.
Innovation - PDA's
We were also able to demonstrate significant improvements in service delivery and performance for example: Local operatives are issued works orders via the PDA’s. This allow the operatives to operate remotely from the TCL main office thus ensuring a fully efficient and responsive service is delivered whilst maintaining necessary communication and updated information at all times.
Performance and KPI’s
Current performance has led to significant improvements to service KP’s: For example End User Satisfaction is averaging 98%. Jobs are completing on time within target, cost are being controlled within budgets, work is being completed without call backs and complaints and incidents are almost zero.
London Borough of Greenwich Strategic Objectives
One of the key objectives of Greenwich was to deliver local benefit to the local community including local businesses. We were able to set up 90% local labour and supply chain for the contract during Project “Start Up”. This was achieved by TUPE of some of the existing staff and the local supply chain was set using the Olympic Portal Compete4. Using this system, we set out all the opportunities for local suppliers and specialist contractors which included many suppliers who had given good service to Greenwich. The procedure included a short PQQ posted on the system and we were able to screen and set up the whole of the supply chain resulting in 90% local suppliers.
